Minimally Invasive Cavity Management

Curodont™ Repair for Early Caries in Tribeca

Curodont™ Repair is a professional peptide-based treatment intended for selected early, non-cavitated caries lesions. After examining the tooth, our pediatric dental team can discuss whether Curodont, fluoride, monitoring or a restorative treatment is the appropriate option.

What Curodont is designed to do

01

Used for selected early caries lesions that have not formed a conventional cavity requiring structural repair.

02

Uses a self-assembling peptide designed to create a matrix within porous early lesions and support mineral deposition from the oral environment.

03

Treatment choice depends on lesion stage, location, tooth condition and the dentist's diagnosis.

Overview

A non-restorative option for selected early lesions

Early caries can begin as subsurface mineral loss before a visible hole develops. Curodont Repair contains the self-assembling peptide P11-4, which is designed to diffuse into selected porous lesions and form a scaffold that supports mineral deposition.

Curodont is not a universal replacement for fillings. Once tooth structure has cavitated, broken down or requires structural restoration, a filling, crown or another treatment may be more appropriate.

Diagnosis matters. The dentist evaluates the lesion clinically and may use diagnostic imaging or other information when indicated before discussing whether Curodont is suitable.

What to Expect

What to expect

01

Evaluate the lesion

The dentist determines whether the area represents an early lesion and whether the tooth is suitable for a non-restorative approach.

02

Prepare the surface

The tooth surface is professionally cleaned and prepared according to the product's clinical protocol.

03

Apply Curodont

The material is placed on the selected lesion so it can penetrate the porous enamel area.

04

Monitor over time

The tooth is reviewed during follow-up to assess lesion activity and determine whether additional preventive or restorative care is needed.

Important Considerations

Important limitations

Curodont is intended for selected early lesions; it is not appropriate for every cavity.

It does not physically replace tooth structure that has already been lost.

A tooth may still need a filling, crown or another treatment if the lesion progresses or the structure is compromised.

Ongoing hygiene, preventive care and follow-up remain important after treatment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Curodont the same as a filling?+

No. Curodont is a non-restorative treatment considered for selected early, non-cavitated lesions. A filling restores lost tooth structure and is used when structural repair is indicated.

Does Curodont require drilling?+

For an appropriate early lesion, the Curodont application itself is a non-restorative procedure. Whether any tooth preparation is needed depends on the actual diagnosis and any other treatment being performed.

Can every cavity be treated with Curodont?+

No. Suitability depends on lesion stage, surface, tooth structure and clinical findings. Cavitated or structurally compromised teeth may require restorative care.

What happens after Curodont treatment?+

The area should be monitored over time. The dentist may also recommend fluoride, oral-hygiene changes or other preventive measures based on individual risk.
